Our mission is to further geographical knowledge and understanding through education. The GA is a lively community of professional practice demonstrating innovation for over a century with an unrivalled understanding of teaching geography.

All members can choose one or more of our specialist journals packed with 100+ new articles each year. Geography, Teaching Geography and Primary Geography journals provide subject information on developments in geography, support and guidance on matters in geography education.
Geography is the GA’s flagship journal and highlights the dynamic nature of the discipline; bridging the gap between higher education institutions, schools, colleges and academies by profiling current research in geography and geographical education in an engaging and accessible way.
Primary Geography is for all early years and primary teachers; providing a themed focus, it contains practical, informative, inspiring and thought-provoking articles to support geography teaching and learning in the primary classroom. Each edition contains articles supplemented with online extras such as worksheets, videos and PowerPoint presentations.
Teaching Geography is for all secondary and college teachers; providing lead articles exploring the theory and practice of a specific aspect of geographical education, ideas for stimulating geography lessons, complete with downloadable resources plus reviews and subject updates.
Whether it’s Initial Teacher Education (ITE), Geography Quality Marks, education research, curriculum design and development, progression, assessment or subject knowledge, career development and leadership, the GA can help you. As well as expert help with preparing for the EIF & Ofsted inspections EIF-support.
