Congratulations to students, teachers and schools across the country for their achievements in this year’s A level geography examinations.
The GA has published a detailed analysis of geography A level results for the summer 2024 series. A few headlines from this year include:
- The A level grade distribution for the UK is in line with 2023.
- The number of geography A level entries has decreased by 5% from 2023 – there were 36,314 entries this year compared with 38,264 in 2023.
- Geography was 12th in order of popularity of subjects over all, but is now ranked 3rd in the top 10 A level subjects by decrease in entry.
- The number of humanities subjects featuring in this list of subjects with declining entries was notable. This is against an increase of 2.2% in entries for all A level subjects.
