The Judges praised CoastCraft as an ‘authentic digital learning experience that brings climate change and coastal geography vividly to life. By connecting curriculum content with real-world data and presenting it in a Minecraft-style environment, it enables pupils to learn through interactive simulations and understand the future impact of decision-making.’
The BETT Awards are the world’s largest EdTech awards, and the UK BETT event connects directly with a network of over 35,000 educators, EdTech pioneers, policy makers, and charities.
CoastCraft was developed in partnership by the Environment Agency, Microsoft and Cornwall Council as part of the Making Space for Sand project from the Flood and Coastal Innovation Programme (FCIP). FCIP is designed to drive innovation in flood and coastal resilience and adaptation to a changing climate from authorities, businesses and communities.
Winning the 2026 BETT Award for Secondary Digital Learning Product marks a significant milestone, confirming CoastCraft’s status as a world-class educational product.
