COP26 Pledges

The Worldwise Board knew that the COP26 summit, held in Glasgow in November 2021, would provide plenty of opportunities for students to make pledges about their future commitment to reducing global emissions.

However, we felt it was important that students understood the impacts of their actions and were able to discuss the relative merits of different approaches to sustainability.

We asked schools to send in examples of their pledges, backed up by investigations to show how they would be of benefit to the global warming issue. For example, what are the benefits of changing your plastic straws for paper ones?

Here are some examples of what schools did:

Cumbria Youth Climate Summit pledges

School projects and pledge ideas

Goldington Academy Bedford pledge display

Mayflower High School pledge display

Sherborne School pledge tree
