Uneven Development Conversations with Students

Feedback to students took place frequently and in a variety of formats. The following proved particularly useful:

  • Group and one to one discussion between student and teacher
  • Teacher-to-student feedback sheets (example below)
  • Peer assessment (example below)
  • Video of oral responses to key questions

Example of teacher-to-student feedback sheet

Example of peer assessment

Students were asked to research and annotate a blank map to show the current state of global uneven development. The requirements of the map were made clear and they were then asked to assess a friend’s map using a clear mark scheme.

Video feedback

Flip video cameras were used by students to record each other answering questions.
