The GA Journal Award is presented to articles in each of our three journals which have made the greatest contribution to the development of good practice.
The deadline for voting was 3 March 2025 and the awards will be presented at the GA Annual Conference.
Here are the 2025 nominations:
For Geography:

For Teaching Geography:
a) Alistair Hamill – Taking field trips to the mantle (Spring 2024)
b) John Widdowson – Fieldwork on the Elizabeth Line – an investigation into the impacts of London’s latest rail line (Summer 2024)
c) Joshua Peake – Astrogeography: the coming cosmic curriculum (Autumn 2024)
For Primary Geography:
a) Simon Catling – Put your geography values in your school’s policy (Summer 2024)
b) Sophie Brack – Learning about the fluidity of risk (Autumn 2024)
c) Luci Gorell Barnes and Verity Jones – If racism vanished for a day: towards a kinder, anti-racist society (Autumn 2024)
