As per all the GA’s Committees and Special Interest Groups, the Teaching Geography Editorial Board is a sub-committee of the Education Group and subject to the statutes and standing orders of the GA. Its terms of reference state that the Board exists to support GA members by:

• keeping members informed of progress and developments in all aspects of teaching geography at secondary school level
• maintaining the quality and relevance of the journal
• deciding on the content of three issues of the journal per year
• encouraging GA members to become contributors to Teaching Geography and supporting them to produce high-quality content for the benefit of the geography subject community
• managing any developments of the journal in line with GA policies and strategy.

The Chair of the Board is invited to the meetings of the Education Group, providing a valuable link between the Board and the wider GA.

The Editorial Board currently comprises:

• Hannah Finch Noyes, Head of Geography at St Helen and St Katharine, Abingdon, Oxfordshire
• Lucy Fryer, Geography and Geology Teacher, King Edward VI Grammar School, Chelmsford
• Dr Grace Healy, Education Director (Secondary), David Ross Education Trust, Honorary Research Fellow, University of Oxford, and Honorary Associate Professor, IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society
• Dr Aidan Hesslewood, Head of Geography, Spalding Grammar School, Lincolnshire
• Fred Martin, Consultant to the GA
• Dr Emma Rawlings Smith, Lecturer in Sustainability and PGCE Geography, University of Southampton
• Dr Ian Selmes, Former secondary geography teacher and former Lecturer in Secondary Geography Education, University of Leicester
• Katie Richardson, Head of Geography at Weald of Kent Grammar School.
• Daryl Sinclair, Academic Administration at WABE International School, Pinneberg
• Tessa Sittner, geography teacher at Highgate School. Tessa is currently a visiting lecturer in Geography Secondary Teacher Education at Middlesex University and is a Chartered Geographer (Teacher).
