As a charity, the GA is fortunate to have members who have generously supported our work through their memberships, and through their donations and legacies. Whatever the level of support, these additional funds help the GA fulfil our charitable mission to better support geography, teachers and their pupils.
This year the GA established a Gifts and Legacies Fund into which you can make additional donations and/or leave a legacy.
The donations will be invested in a sustainable and ethical fund which will help the GA develop its strategic work.
Where eligible, donations can be made in a tax efficient way. This enables the GA to receive additional funds through Gift Aid, and UK higher rate taxpayers can receive tax relief on their donation.
Projects in need of funding 2026-27
From time to time, we will also give you the opportunity to support identified projects.
Over 2026–27 this includes donating to support the costs of publishing new versions of Leading Primary Geography and the Handbook of Secondary Geography.
Both books will be published in 2027 and, in advance of their publication, we are inviting members to make a donation towards their costs.
Everyone who donates will be recognised in the relevant publication’s acknowledgments (unless you indicate otherwise), and we are pleased to say that a gift from the late Judy Mansell’s estate is helping contribute towards the costs of Handbook of Secondary Geography.
For further information for how you might make a contribution towards the primary or secondary handbooks and/or the GA’s new Gifts and Legacies Fund please visit Donate to the GA.
The GA is a member of the Fundraising Regulator and abides by its Fundraising Code.
