This section is to support new geography teachers in the early years of your teaching career. It provides guidance and information about all aspects of geography teaching.
From September 2021, in England, the term early career teacher (ECT) replaced newly qualified teacher (NQT) and a two year induction programme was introduced.
During those two years early career teachers will receive a structured programme of training and support with a dedicated mentor and time off timetable. This is known as ‘EDF-based training’ because it is based on the Early Career Framework.
During your induction years you will ask many questions. These links provide you with information about some of these.
