Inclusion and adaptation

‘Teachers should set high expectations for every student. They should plan stretching work for students whose attainment is significantly above the expected standard. They have an even greater obligation to plan lessons for students who have low levels of prior attainment or come from disadvantaged backgrounds.’

A good geography teacher should always be inclusive and make geographical learning meaningful for all students. They should promote equal opportunities and access for all students. To do this they need to find out about different learning needs and how to adapt their teaching to cater for these needs.
