The Initial teacher training (ITT) market review report (DfE 2021) recommended that trainees must have access to ‘mentors who have specific expertise in the evidence-based approaches set out in the training curriculum, so that trainees receive strong and consistent input on the best-evidenced ways of teaching their subject and phase.’ 

These pages are designed to provide specialist support for all who teach primary geography teachers during their initial training and Early Career induction; this includes mentors, school-based trainers and university tutors.
