Geography

Geography is the GA’s flagship journal and highlights the thriving and dynamic nature of the discipline. It aims to bridge the gap between higher education institutions, and schools, colleges and academies by profiling current research in geography and geographical education. It seeks to communicate the findings of geographical research in an engaging and accessible way.

The journal’s readership includes specialist geography teachers and their senior students, university academics and higher education students making the transition to university.

Geography is published for the GA by Taylor & Francis. It is available in print and online and includes:

  • Recent research by leading geographers
  • Specific studies in human and physical geography
  • Discussion of standards in geographical education
  • Investigations of specific places and regions and enquiries into environmental issues
  • Reviews of recent resources.

Your subscription gives you free access to every issue of Geography (formerly known as The Geographical Teacher) dating back to 1901 via Taylor & Francis Online.

It is important that GA publications reflect the wealth of knowledge from diverse perspectives in our society to enable a responsive approach to geography education. In the GA’s commitment to increase diversity and inclusion, we encourage contributions from all teachers and educators and particularly from underrepresented groups.
