Public support for climate change being taught as part of the geography national curriculum

In July 2026 YouGov asked a representative sample of 2,376 adults whether they supported or opposed climate change being taught as part of the geography National Curriculum (*).

There was a positive response to this poll:

• 79% of UK adults support climate change being taught as part of the geography National Curriculum.
• There was majority support for this position across male (76%) and female (82%) respondents, all age ranges 18+ to 65+ (between 75% and 87%), all socio-economic classifications (75-84%) and across all English regions (77-83%).

(*) All figures, unless otherwise stated, are from YouGov Plc. Total sample size was 2,376 adults. Fieldwork was undertaken between 19-20 July 2026. The survey was carried out online. The figures have been weighted and are representative of all UK adults (aged 18+).
