Health is an aspect of life that constantly affects us, especially in the wake of the recent – and in many ways, ongoing – COVID-19 pandemic. Yet the geography of health is often an under-explored area of the subject.

To mark World Health Day, the GA has made an exclusive Teaching Geography article available for universal access. A case for the curriculum: health geography, written by Tessa Sittner, explores how teachers can use real-world examples to increase students’ knowledge and understanding of a frequently overlooked aspect of geography.
