SecEd article about the GA’s Critical Thinking for Achievement programme

SecEd – which supports secondary educational professionals across the UK – has today published an article in their online newspaper describing some practical teaching ideas from the GA’s recent ‘Critical Thinking for Achievement’ programme.  Over 1,050 teachers in nearly 400 schools engaged in the DfE funded programme, details of which can be found here.

The article provides a taster of some of the practical activities that teachers engaged with in their classroom-based projects as well as some ideas for best practice.  It also provides links to the new GA web section – critical thinking in the classroom – and the pilot episode of GeogPod where the GA’s CPD, Curriculum and Marketing Manager, Rebecca Kitchen, discusses the benefits that such an approach can have on encouraging students to think like geographers.
