The GA’s new strategic plan is now underway, following its launch on the 1st September 2020. The aims of the plan are: to support a larger, more diverse and better connected community of geography teachers than ever; for the GA and the geography education community to be more inclusive and sustainable; to nurture professional knowledge, inspire young people and make a demonstrable difference to the position of geography in education and society.
GA Chief Executive Alan Kinder said,
“Our new strategic plan, with its vision to connect teachers and inspire quality geography, signals the beginning of an exciting new phase in the GA’s work. The plan reflects the ideas and passions of the GA’s Trustees, staff, volunteers, members and strategic partners, all of whom have had an important role in the planning process over the past year and more. Most importantly, we look forward to ensuring that the plan directs the GA’s work so that as many teachers and students of geography as possible benefit from our support.
