Our Chief Executive, Steve Brace, has contributed to the TES Magazine article ‘Year 7s commonly taught by non-specialist teachers’.
The Geographical Association said: ‘The ideal would be for all geography lessons to be taught by passionate and expert subject-specialist geography teachers – who can bring the subject to life for all their pupils. Where schools draw on the support on non-specialist teachers, it is important that they are properly supported so that they have a secure understanding of the complex geographical processes and contexts that they will be teaching.’
