We are delighted that the article ‘Why does subject-specific professional development matter?’ has been published in the journal ‘Professional Development Today‘.
Written by Emma Rawlings Smith and Becky Kitchen, both representing the GA, the article argues that subject-specific professional development is vital for professional growth.
As well as mapping the GA’s broad range of CPD provision it also provides recommendations for individual teachers, school leaders and policy makers who want to make subject-specific professional development a priority.
There will be a complimentary article by Emma Rawlings Smith and Becky Kitchen published in the Summer issue of Teaching Geography, released in May 2025.
