This year’s WorldWise Week resources, which follow the 2021 Conference Theme, ‘Compassionate Geographies’ are available as a teaching resource now.
The resources focus on Bree Picower’s framework for social justice. There are six elements of social justice curriculum design in the framework, each one is addressed geographically by a specific panel. The six elements which make up the resources are:
- Self love and knowledge
- Respect for others
- Issues of social injustice
- Social movement and social change
- Awareness raising
- Social action
The UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties will be hosted by the UK, in partnership with Italy, in November 2021 in Glasgow. As part of the COP26 pledges there is an additional item, WWW2021 – COP26 – SAVE OUR PLANET, which asks young people, students and adults to make pledges resulting in actions that have a meaningful impact. Resource 6 will help to support students in making their pledges and setting out their geographical investigation.
